Some notes on the day

Set out for Richmond very much refreshed by the rest day. Nothing unusual happened, following the normal route with the Enid Blyton family, the Americans and another couple. Just outside Richmond Dave met us and gave us our lunch – the first example of his excellent support services. In Richmond went to the Black Lion where we were staying and had too much beer (4 pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord). Continued on and walked out on to Catterick Bridge on the northern side of the river (rather than the more normal southern side). Dave met us at the Farmers Arms and took us back to the Black Lion. Had a meal and several more pints of Landlord, went to the Ship Inn in Frenchgate and had a couple more pints of Landlord and then back to the Black Lion for several more pints. Probably our heaviest drinking day of the trip.
